How to texturize a figure

How to texturize a figure

When you want to achieve a more realistic look in certain wargaming miniatures, several techniques are used to achieve higher levels of detail. One of these techniques is texturing a figure, which is usually used when the surface to be painted must have a specific appearance. Model paints are used to achieve this.

There are several ways to texturize a figure and in this tutorial, we show you one of them, but you can use others that you will see in other tutorials, for example, apply the paint with a weathering brushes. With this technique, you get that the final appearance of the miniature does not look smooth, as if it were just out of the factory, but gives it some use, adding small imperfections to the surface that makes it closer to reality. The use is widespread in vehicles for wargaming or historical modeling, scenery constructions, science fiction vehicles, or fantasy-related themes.

Our range of textured paints for miniatures can also help you to achieve this result, giving a much rougher and more used look than with paints. Where you have to use one technique or the other will depend on the level of texture you are looking for and the final look you want for the miniature. Remember that this appearance will always depend on your tastes.
